"Fall Sun woman"

Woman is falling into the sun is a drawing that first appeared in India in the 14th century. The image may be interpreted as the symbol of solstice, when the sun sets, but in the context of the very bright imagery that appears on the Eteocretan amulet there is no occasion for this interpretation. Instead, we should expect a transformation from violence to tenderness (for the Antinomy, symbolic intercourse is also no longer possible). This reading is also appropriate to the painting's vertical position: the full, excessive, almost distorted importance of the image becomes clear only at the very bottom of the panel, where it is eclipsed by the ephemeral face of a goddess (at the right edge of the painting).*
